Learning Path #5: Crochet Pattern Sourcing
From online to in-hand, discover the best places to find (and store) your crochet patterns!
Do you hoard crochet patterns in your email? Is your internet browser full of bookmarked patterns and sources? Maybe, you download & print all patterns to keep them handy. There is a better system, and we can show you.
Knowing where crochet patterns can be found is a key hunting tactic to fine-tune, but managing patterns you accumulate is just as important a tactic to learn. Ravelry is a key topic in this course because it's free to join and use, and is an amazing search & library database for the yarn world! By the end of this course, you'll better understand Ravelry, and will be able to manage all your patterns in one easy-to-use location!
This course includes the following 4 lessons:
- Pattern Sourcing & Management: Cutting through the clutter and chaos
- Ravelry: Profile & Notebook Settings
- Ravelry: Search Functions
- Ravelry: Advanced Tagging
I learned to crochet before grade school, and have had a passion for the art ever since! I began designing patterns that appealed to my own style in late 2009, and my work has been published in various craft and crochet magazines ever since!
In late 2012 I formed the Design Wars Challenge, which is a network of independent crochet designers posed as a battle to be won in the crochet arena!
In 2014, I founded the American Crochet Association. We are dedicated to helping crocheters to help themselves.
Tidbits? I’m always up for a bit of traveling, I’m very fond of black licorice, I’m quite good at Scrabble, and I can do 10 push-ups!
